After inspections by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), some termination of pregnancy (abortion) services provided by Marie Stopes International have been suspended across the country. The CQC and NHS England are working to ensure all terminations are provided safely and that all patients are protected.
In Leeds, referral pathways have been put in place to ensure that any woman affected by this suspension has been or will be contacted and alternative arrangements will be made, with their consent. In the majority of cases, these women will be treated at BPAS (British Pregnancy Advisory Service).
