PrEP is available to all women in the UK regardless of immigration status. In the UK, it is available free through the NHS. It is also safe if you’re using hormone replacement therapy for menopause and it’s compatible with all forms of hormonal contraception including the ring, patch, peel, and implant.
PrEP doesn’t affect pregnancy, but it is important to notify your doctor if you become pregnant. You should continue taking PrEP until you discuss with your doctor if you’re still at risk of getting HIV.
PrEP is inclusive and effective for all women. It’s also safe while taking gender affirming hormones.
Together we can take proactive steps towards an HIV free future for women everywhere.
